Open Source RVA presents:
FOOD, FILM AND THE SOURCE! On Friday’s edition of Richmond’s audio news digest, host Don Harrison welcomes author, educator, and friend of the show Dale Brumfield, who tells us all about how Richmond’s infamous lost 1980s movie, “Rock ‘n’ Roll Hotel,” is enjoying a second life in New York City art cinemas, and may finally be on the way to getting an official DVD release. Then co-host Dina Weinstein talks to Norm Gold, the propretor of a brand new grocery store opening later this year in Church Hill in an area of town long known as a food desert. He talks all about the necessity for his market at the corners of 25rh Street and Nine Mile Road, and how he plans to help local, black-owned businesses when the still-unnamed store opens in December. We also have a new edition of Curtain Call, our bi-weekly look at Richmond’s thriving theatre scene, produced by the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle. This week, Jerry Williams, Julinda Lewis and Claire Boswell review 5th Wall Theatre’s “Pump Boys and Dinettes” and “Erma Bombeck: At Wit’s End” at Hanover Tavern. GET WITH THE PROGRAM! It’s Open Source RVA, heard every Friday at noon on WRIR and http://dev.wrir.org.https://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.spectacletheater.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2013%2F04%2Frockrollhotelbanner.jpg.scaled1000.jpg&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.spectacletheater.com%2Fapril-midnights%2F&docid=zcvALGhTrlLK5M&tbnid=rfQPQxLKRC31UM%3A&vet=1&w=700&h=300&itg=1&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim
